Success Stories of Our Graduates
Tuğçe Atak Meriç
I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2013 and Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2017. I have been working as a Laboratory Supervisor in Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing since 2013. I continue my education life in Bahçeşehir University Institute of Health Sciences, Nursing Doctorate programme and I am a doctoral thesis student. With my master's thesis work with my expert professor in the field of Child Health and Diseases Nursing, I received the First Prize in Oral Presentation at the "V.Zeynep Kamil Innovation in Nursing Symposium" and congress participation scholarships at the "TÜSAD 39th National Respiratory Congress" and "TÜSAD 38th Respiratory Congress" with the work we did with our Department Head. I continue to do academic studies with the education I received at Yeditepe University and continue to participate in congresses and symposiums to advance in my field of expertise. I would like to thank my teachers of Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, who have always supported me to progress on this path and whose academic achievements and human love I take as an example.
Sümeyra Nurdan
I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2017. I am progressing academically in line with the contributions of my esteemed teachers throughout my education life. I am doing my master's degree at Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. During my undergraduate education, I had the experience of signing various studies thanks to my teachers who carried me forward both practically and theoretically. I successfully made an E-poster presentation at the 26th European Congress of Psychiatry held in France. I have a research article in the publication stage and different researches that are still ongoing. As a nurse, I continue to see the benefits of the education I received from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. I believe that the dedication and knowledge I gained during my education made me different in my clinical working life and that the education I received will always shed light on me in my future studies.
Damla Yanık
After successfully graduating from Yeditepe University Department of Nursing and Sociology Minor Programme in 2015, I continue my master's degree education at Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences Nursing Master's Programme. I have been working as a nurse in the Mixed Surgery service at Yeditepe University Hospital for three years with pleasure. I have a special interest in quality and education in nursing, and I am also happy to have the opportunity to work as a service training nurse for the last one and a half years and experience the field I am interested in. In addition, the information provided by the Sociology Minor programme during my undergraduate education was very guiding while shaping my master's thesis. In the future, I aim to contribute more to my profession with research and applications in the field of Nursing by using the light of the field of Sociology.
Hürmüz Yüksel
I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2016 with the first degree. After graduation, I started my master's degree at Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Child Health and Diseases Nursing. I am currently conducting my master's thesis with my expert professor in the field of Paediatric Nursing and supporting our students in the clinical practice areas carried out within the scope of our department. I am happy to work with my esteemed professors and dear friends.
Büşra Selma Demirhan
The biggest factor in my preference for Yeditepe University was that it provides education in English. I also had some hesitations when I started the department. However, I understood that I made the right choice thanks to my professors who are specialised in their fields, experienced and transfer their experiences to us. The fact that our professors communicate with us one-to-one helped me warm up to the school. The activities, projects and social responsibility projects we organised with our department professors helped me to improve myself both professionally and socially. After graduation, I have been working at Yeditepe University Specialised Hospital, which keeps the spirit of our university alive. Having a team mentality here and seeing familiar faces helped me get used to it in a short time. At the same time, not limiting myself to undergraduate education and starting graduate education enables me to perform my profession more actively, consciously and knowledgeably. Let's not forget that we should improve ourselves and protect our profession.
Selma ÇELİK
I graduated from Yeditepe University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, 2015 Bachelor's Degree and Yeditepe University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of General Nursing, 2018 Master's Degree. I was appointed as a Research Assistant at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, and I continue my PhD programme at Marmara University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Internal Medicine. I won a scholarship to attend the European Respiratory Society 2018 congress in Paris, France with three studies we have done with our department head. I participated in the 2nd International Congress On Nursıng (ICON-2018) congress with an oral presentation on "Evaluatg The Effects Of COPD's On Indıvıdual General Health Cases And Daily Lives". I received a scholarship to attend the European Respiratory Society 2017 congress held in Milan, Italy. I won congress participation scholarships at the "TÜSAD 39th National Respiratory Congress" and "TÜSAD 38th Respiratory Congress". I am a member of national and international professional organisations related to my field and I try to continue my scientific and academic developments with the contributions of very experienced teachers in our department.
Büşra Çubukçu
I started the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2011. In my 4th year, I worked part-time at Yeditepe University Hospital when I was an intern. I continued to work in the same institution after my graduation. After 3 years of clinical experience, I started my master's degree at Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2017.
Işılay Can
I graduated from Yeditepe University Department of Nursing in 2017. I worked as an assistant at Yeditepe University for 3 years, during which time I completed my master's degree. During my master's education, we conducted studies on Cyberbullying with different dimensions together with my department professors. I completed my master's thesis on "Communication Skills of Psychiatric Nurses" and my studies on communication continue. Among my goals is to be a qualified nurse who takes the nursing profession one step further, knows what she does and why she does it, and can convey this. In this direction, I experience psychiatric nursing in different fields and enjoy it very much. I am currently working as a psychiatric nurse in the Mental Health Empowerment Project carried out by the Turkish Red Crescent for migrants, putting the experience of the psychiatric clinic in my pocket on top of what the university has contributed to me.
Ceren Zeren
I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2017. As a result of the guidance of my esteemed professors with their vast experience, I started to work as a nurse in the Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of Yeditepe University Specialization Hospital and I am still working. I continued the discipline I acquired during my education in my clinical life. During my healthcare service, I had the chance to apply the knowledge I learned in my undergraduate life in the clinic. Thanks to my research-oriented courses that make me different from the education I received at Yeditepe University, I continue to conduct academic research in addition to my clinical studies. I had the opportunity to present my undergraduate thesis as an e-poster presentation abroad and also to present my studies in different congresses in Turkey. I think I will see the difference of the education I received during my professional life.
Zümrüt Yılmaz
I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2017. After graduation, I started working at Lazergöz Medical Center in Alanya. I work as a surgical nurse here. I am responsible for sterilisation in the operating room, sometimes I work as a circulating nurse, usually as a scrub nurse. Thanks to the internships we have done, I notice the deficiencies in the institution where I work and help to eliminate them. I try to carry the high quality education and skills we receive at school to my professional life as much as I can. The trainings we have received enable me to be a qualified nurse who makes a difference in the field and sheds light on me in my working life.
Fatma Mecek
I graduated from Yeditepe University Department of Nursing in 2016. After my graduation, I started my master's degree at Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing as a postgraduate scholarship student. I am currently doing my master's thesis in the field of Paediatric Nursing and supporting our department in scientific studies and practice.
Yeşim Nurdan Özkorucuklu
In 2015, I graduated from the Department of Nursing as the third in the department and from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics with honours. In 2018, I completed my master's degree with the thesis titled "Milk and Dairy Products Consumption in University Students, Relationship of Milk and Dairy Products with Anthropometric Measurements" and received the title of specialist dietitian. I started my professional life as a nurse in the intensive care unit of Yeditepe University Hospital. I took part in the Nutritional Board of the hospital. I developed myself in the field of enteral and parenteral nutrition. Simultaneously, I followed up patients in Derman Medical Centre Nutrition and Diet Polyclinic. As of 2018, I started working at Moodist Psychiatry and Neurology Hospital.
Erdinç Demirer
I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2017. In 2017, I started working as a nurse in the mixed surgical service of Koç University Hospital. Since 2018, I have been working as a Clinical Research Nurse in the Clinical Research Unit of Koç University Translational Medicine Centre. I am actively involved in Phase studies conducted in our hospital. In my education life, I took part in the European Nursing Student Association as a board member in 2015-2016 and completed a semester abroad with the Erasmus programme. Thanks to the fact that our language of education is English and the Erasmus programme, which is one of the various opportunities of our University, I was able to improve my foreign language in a good way. In addition, thanks to the quality of the education I received, I can continue my business life successfully.
Begüm Arık
I graduated from Darüşşafaka Educational Institutions in 2015, where I completed my education life with the warmth of a home. I won the Nursing Department, which I dreamed of with the desire to be useful to people in Darüşşafaka, at Yeditepe University, which will also be a home for me. I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing in 2019 with an honour certificate. I gained 1.5 years of clinical experience as a staff nurse in the Gynecology and Obstetrics unit at Yeditepe University Hospital, where I worked as an intern with the love of duty since the 4th grade. In order to specialise in my profession, to follow innovations and developments, and to have the opportunity to work with my esteemed teachers whom I take as an example, I started my master's degree in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and received my specialist title in 2022. In the next stage of my life, I want to perform my profession in the best and most beneficial way in the light of science, with dedication and sacrifice, following in the footsteps of my expert teachers. I am happy to take part as a Research Assistant under the roof of Yeditepe University.
